Is There A Diet Secret For Reducing Cellulite?

By James Kupe

It's totally understandable that most women dread cellulite, and it can be a soul destroying thing to look in the mirror and see it sitting there on your body day after day. And it doesn't make it any easier that while up to 85% of women will develop some amount of cellulite during their lives, but it hardly ever affects men. In this article, we're going to focus on one thing that you can take a little control over - what you eat.

Foods That Fight Cellulite

There's a wide range of foods that can help your body reduce cellulite, and of course there are those foods that can make your cellulite even worse. Your goal should be to eat the kinds of foods that help to balance your hormone levels, along with foods that help your body reduce inflammation. High sulfur content foods will also help to reduce your body's build up of cellulite.

You should also try eating foods that improve your blood's circulation, and there are a number of foods that are rich in vitamin C which should also be included in your diet. Since this is such a big topic, this article is going to focus on foods that help to balance the body's hormone levels.

Foods To Stay Away From

There's a fair bit of evidence that that high levels of estrogen in your body can increase the creation and appearance of cellulite. And it's a little know fact that just drinking your morning cup of coffee can increase your body's estrogen levels by up to 68%. Most cooking oils and any product that contains non-fermented soy can also raise estrogen levels, so naturally these should also be avoided whenever possible.

Foods That Battle Cellulite

On the other hand, foods that are high in fiber and rich in sulfur are very good for fighting cellulite production. Adding ground flaxseed to your diet, even though flax itself is a phytoestrogen (which is a negative), is one option. That's because the lignans in flax contain anti-estrogen properties, which cancels out the negative. However, flax can lose it's anti-estrogen properties if it is pressed into an oil, so only use organic ground flaxseed and don't use flax oils.

Another 12 Cellulite Reducing Foods

There's quite a large list of foods that help to reduce cellulite, including chia seeds (which have lots of fiber), sulphur rich foods including cabbage, radishes, broccoli, watercress, kale, hemp seeds, brussels sprouts, pumpkin seeds, cauliflower, onions, and spirulina. Quinoa is also something you should consider adding to your diet. If you follow some of these food tips and include a small amount of exercise in your daily routine, your cellulite should start to look less pronounced for you in a period of just a few weeks.
