Getting Rid Of A Sagging Chin In 3 Simple Steps

By James Kupe

One of the common signs we are getting older is when we start to develop a the dreaded sagging or double chin. As humans age, our skin becomes less elastic than it was when we were younger due to a decreasing amount of collagen and elastin. Carrying a few extra pounds can also be a cause of this sometimes embarrassing facial feature.

Now while most people who have a sagging chin would like to have it gone, the good news is it doesn't have to be permanent. That's because there are quite a few things you can do to start tightening the skin on your chin. Making a few easy lifestyle changes can get you on your way to having a good-looking, slender chin quite quickly. Here are 3 tips you can use immediately to start making it happen.

Tip 1 - Start Eating A Healthier Diet

If some of your favorite foods are cheeseburgers, chips, soda, crackers and other types of fast food, it's probably one of the causes of your sagging chin. We all know these salty, fatty, processed foods bad for us, but they also have a very damaging affect on the health of your skin.

Start eating fresh, organic foods such as fruits and vegetables. Drink only water or unsweetened tea to keep the skin hydrated and firm. You'll see a difference in the health of your skin and weight in a matter of weeks.

Tip 2 - Get More Exercise

Engaging in regular exercise is an important part of helping to get rid of a sagging or double chin. exercising every couple of days will burn off fat and firm up your body (and your chin). One exercise that is specifically designed to fix a sagging chin is called the double chin workout. You can start this exercise by fist of all placing your body in a comfortable position.

Then carefully tilt your head back as far as you can without putting undue strain on your neck. While in this position, open and close your mouth by moving your lower jaw. You'll start to feel your neck muscles being stretched as you repeat this exercise and open and close your mouth. Hold your mouth closed for several seconds and then repeat up to 10 times several times a day. Cardio workouts along with strength training can also help you to get the most out of your exercise sessions.

Tip 3 - Start Using A Good Quality Face Cream

Since a sagging chin is a common problem, many remedies have been created to counter it. Make sure you research a product before purchasing so you know exactly what ingredients are being applied to your skin. Creams that advertise the use of plant extracts tend to work better than those that do not. Key words to look for in a product include yeast extract, aloe vera extract, hyaluronic acid, and soy protein. Good products will increase the elastin and collagen produced which will tighten the skin and keep it healthy.

By making some of these small changes, such as modifying your diet and getting a bit of exercise, you have a good chance of reducing or even removing that sagging chin. The key point is to continue with these healthy habits, and you'll be able to keep your skin healthy and firm for the rest of your life.
